Tom Gerlach started roofing at the age of 14, and two days out of high school he started Tom Gerlach Roofing in 1986. Tom found out that being a good roofer had nothing to do with being a good businessman and in 1988 went to work for the contractor who introduced him to roofing. After marriage, a new daughter and counseling from above, Tom caught a vision in 1994. "I took a good look at the residential roofing market and really saw a void," says Tom. Roofing contractors in general have not been known to be the most virtuous of men. "What would happen if we roofing contractors really kept our promises?  Well, we definitely have found out," says Tom.

Advanced Roof.com was established in 1995 with a goal of providing unmatched service with the best quality materials and labor money can buy! Tom says, "I worked for a contractor for 7 years as an installer and used that time to really relate to our crews." Tom personally trains his installers on the roof and they must pass Certainteed’s Master Shingle Applicator Course. You will find Tom on the roof tearing off and shingling every week. "I still love the satisfaction of nailing on a straight roof, and then driving by years later and telling my family, look at that house, I roofed that, (they get sick of that)" says Tom.

Today, Tom has transitioned his successful roofing business into the Design/Build/Remodel business that is Confidence Builders, Inc. Tom works with a wide ranges of expert, dedicated, service-oriented tradespeople to provide a full array of home building and remodeling services.
